G3 FastForward This is a G3 FastForward Grant Program: These programs are short-term training courses resulting in industry credentials for high-demand professions in our region. If you have been a Virginia resident for at least the past 12 months, you may be able to take this class for 1/3 of the full cost (FastForward price) or at $0 cost if you qualify for G3. Course Prerequisites:
 
  • HS Diploma, GED, or you are scheduled to earn your GED within the next 12 months.
  • Computer and internet access are required
Course Description:
A phlebotomy technician is a trained medical professional responsible for collecting blood and other body fluids from patients for medical tests or donations in a skilled, safe, and reliable manner. This course offers practical, hands-on experience to help prepare you for a successful career as a phlebotomist. Phlebotomy is a valuable skill to learn for current medical professionals and can also be pursued as a standalone career path. Books and supplies are included in the class. Upon completing all requirements, you will be eligible to sit for a national certification exam. If the idea of learning to draw blood excites you as a potential career, register today!

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Heathcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy (CPT) national exam.
