Prerequisite:

CompTIA IT Fundamentals or IT degree obtained within the last 5 years
 
Course Description:

In this course, we will cover both the Core 1 and Core 2 exam objectives. This highly interactive course will teach you the IT essentials needed to pass the CompTIA A+ Certification Exam successfully. Your first module (220-1101) will concentrate on PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, and learning how to troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues through hands-on labs and real-world examples. Your second module (220-1102) will specifically cover installing and configuring operating systems such as Windows, iOS, Android, Apple OS X, and Linux. Additionally, you will learn and apply methods from two highly sought-after areas in Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing. This course will prepare you to take and pass the CompTIA A+ exam, boosting opportunities for your IT career. Both exams and all materials are included.
 
What to Expect:

This course is 60 hours of instruction and hands-on learning delivered over the course of 8 weeks. It is very fast-paced. An additional 20 hours or more of study time outside of class hours will be expected. Students must have reliable internet at home to be able to complete the labs and other assigned homework. Instructors will provide students with all materials and codes on the first day of class. Instructors will provide students with specific dates and instructions for testing.

To receive the CompTIA A+ certification, candidates must pass two exams: Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102). A passing score on both exams will be required to register for the next class listed on the pathway chart. Successful candidates will have knowledge of Hardware and Infrastructure, Security, Ops and Service, Software, and Data.
