Power Industry Fundamentals sets the stage for learners entering the electrical energy production and distribution field. This course covers the many ways in which electricity can be produced, from burning fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas, to harnessing nuclear energy, and using renewable energy sources such as wind, geothermal and solar energy. This course also includes the Core Craft Skills curriculum, which covers the basics in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, materials handling, construction drawings, rigging and employability skills to prepare students for success in the trades industry.
