 This is a G3 FastForward Grant Program: These programs are short-term training courses resulting in industry credentials for high-demand professions in our region. If you have been a Virginia resident for at least the past 12 months, you may be able to take this class for 1/3 of the full cost (FastForward Price) or at $0 cost if you qualify for G3. Earn a credential in just 6 weeks! This course is designed to expose students to the various types of robots and ways they can increase productivity in industrial applications. While these robots can replace low skilled human tasks, they require people with technical skills to program, operate and maintain them. Upon completion of this course, student will have worked with various types and brands of robots – learning how to program, teach positions, and work safely with these critical elements of modern industry. Mechatronics courses require previous experience. If you do not have previous experience with mechatronics or advanced technology, it is strongly recommended that the Fundamental courses are taken in the following order: Electricity, Mechanical Systems, Fluid Power, PLC, and Robotics.
